fresh. local. that's how we roll.

For generations, we've been known as "The Pepperoni Roll Place".  While both our menu & customer base have grown
over the years, we've purposed ourselves to maintain the old-fashioned feel while offering modern-day conveniences.
Before the rooster crows, our kitchen team starts pouring their hearts into preparing ingredients so that we can
serve it up fresh.  Local products are proudly sold & served, adding to our "feels like home" atmosphere.
Consistency; comfort; community connection ~ what we hope you'll find here.
We love what we do, because of you.

RICH IN HISTORY

Rooted in the history, and heart, of Venetia. . . The log cabin was built on the site of the old McConnaughey store ~
the town's country mercantile of yesteryears.  You'll find our dining room walls filled with pieces of history of both the old mercantile & its surrounding communities.  And our dining room seats filled with life-long residents gathering for coffee & conversation, as well as new faces ~ soon to become familiar ones.  There's truly something special about this place that's brought people, of all walks of life, together for years & years.

Venetia was originally a mining community
that was named Anderson Station.
In 1917, McConnaughey's General Store
occupied an abandoned company store
& served the community into the mid-1980's.
The log building was then built to take its place.
You'll find photos, articles, artifacts, & paintings
in our dining room that tell the stories of
McConnaughey's & the surrounding towns of its time.

We still have customers who fondly remember horse hitch-posts, penny candies, the pot-belly stove; & seed-and-feed deliveries provided by means of the railroad tracks out back.  The heart of this place beats strong through its stories of old, & it's easy to fall in love with its charm.  Come step back in time with us & slow down
for a bit and a bite.

"Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different. . .?"
